IADT has a quality animation program with an innovative blend of art and technical courses designed to stimulate creative visual art and design abilities while simultaneously harnessing practical animation skills.

Courses provide intensive training in the entire cycle of pre-production/visualization, production and post-production. In completing the program, each student produces a demo reel (a short 1-2 minute video) that serves as a showcase for their individual talent and growing skill set.

The program begins with an introduction to 3D-Computer Animation, Life Drawing, and Figure Sculpture. Students explore the fundamentals of character development, scripting, and story boarding, and move on to different styles of animation, visual story construction and special effects techniques currently used in film and television.

Students later create an original character and then animate it, bringing it to life. Students who successfully complete the program graduate with a diploma and a professionally produced portfolio of their own work.
